Digging Test Holes

Shoppers may have noticed some digging going on at the Co-op today.  Rick
Crawford Excavation from Grand Marais was digging test holes.  Joe Butler, our geotechnical engineer, was also on site and is using the information to create our footing design.  It's fun to see planning progress.

Owner Loan Program

I talked about fundraising and owner loans way back in our February newsletter.  As we get closer to expansion, owners have been inquiring about our owner loan program.  We're still finalizing the details but hope to raise $600,000 in owner loans.  Owner loan brochures will be sent to all owners on June 1st.  To be eligible to lend money to the Co-op, you need to be a Minnesota resident and an owner of the Co-op.  Minimum loan amounts will most likely be $1000 and interest rates will range from 2-5% depending on the size of the loan and term length.  Term lengths will range from 5-9 years. Owner loans are a great way to support the Co-op expansion project.  Look for more information on lending money to your Co-op in June.

Expansion Survey

It's time to let us know what you want to see in a new co-op.  To help prioritize owner preferences, the board has put together an expansion survey.  You can access it on Survey Monkey at http://s.coop/jkp8 or pick up a paper copy at the store.

We’ll take your thoughts and ideas into account as difficult decisions are made about our new store.
